Farm On!

We found a resonable price on hay so we went and picked up 20 bales for the winter. Of course, it was an adventure for the lads. The Mrs. talked to a local farmer and we went for Family night.

Now these are some teeth that would get a dentist excited. Due to our inexperience in the alpaca world we are trying to get some expert advise on the teeth. I think they are long, which is a common problem, and I need to find some one to help in the trimming.

This is Sur before he got his hair cut. He was less than pleased to be wrestled to the ground and stretched out between two trees. He made mad noises the drooled green slime most of the time. The green slime really smells.

This is from when we sheared Randal earlier in the summer but it is shown here so you can see how they get hog-tied.

It looks worse than it is. They just have to be fully restrained or they jump around a bunch. Some people say they can shear them standing but I don't think that would work in our case.
Down on the funny farm we have lots of adventures. DMP

Blog Reader Input Required

I need input from my readers. This will require that you comment. Tell me what you think are the top 5 or 10 jobs that would be the great. Really the only criteria would be that a person would have to make a living, around $70k per year or better.

I think this might be part of my mid life crisis. I have to find a job that is a tiny bit rewarding. I'm even thinking that I will have to take some classes to get educated to pursue this new occupation. Your help is appreciated. DMP

I am a Negligent Blogger
We arrived home from a Montana and Idaho vacation Sunday night at 9 PM. We drove from Idaho Falls that day. We Left Monday the 7th and went to Helena. Then on Thursday we headed south to Idaho Falls. We traveled through Ennis, MT and Island Park, ID. We took a side trip to Mesa Falls near Ashton, ID. It is a really spectactular series of falls.

We stayed at my wife's little brother's place in IF. It was a reunion of her siblings and parents. It was a fun time. The boys enjoyed getting to know their cousins that they don't see very often. There were lots of laughs and too much food.

We had a young couple stay at the farm to care for the critters while we were away. Everything held together and the big dog about hyperventilated when we came home. I think even the geese and pig were happy to see us.

The Mrs. worked out a place to get some hay for the winter. So we spent Monday night bucking and hauling a small load of hay home. The summer is relatively calm here on out with Scout Camps being the other big events. DMP
