 Saturday's Victim

 The victim being conquered.

The victim still has it's head.
 The headless victim.
Our friend only wants to make one trip.  He believes in getting his money's worth.

This was the third of three trees.  Oddly enough they were Cedars of Lebanon.  I had quite a day.  I took down this tree, cut it into firewood and split the big pieces in half using a weld and sledge hammer.  Then I trimmed two other trees.  On can be seen in the second to the last picture.

It was a day of really hard work but very satisfying.

A Look at Farming

I ran across a mid-west farmer that is a gun writer on the side a couple years ago.  He is a second or third generation farmer and a level headed fellow.  Periodically he writes about the farm commodity prices and what is happening in that world that most of us pretty much ignore.  In the past few months there have been some trends that are concerning.  Give Frank James a read.  Too Much of a Good Thing

I bought a 55 gallon drum with a removable top and have been adding to it with the monthly COSTCO run some basic commodities that could be affected in the near future.  If it doesn't happen we can just use them up with normal consumption.  "Be Prepared" - it is some big organizations motto.

To Blog or Not to Blog

I have creative ideas on things to write but the gumption to stop and do it is not there.  There is a problem in my one computer house, four people want to use it.  During the school year the evenings are filled with people in line to get on the computer.  With summer being here the boys typically have used up their electronics time by the time evening rolls around.

Blogging is like having different kinds of pets.  I once had a hedge hog.  He was really cute but very prickly to play with.  There wasn't a lot of touchy feely feed back just a prickly back.  A dog on the other hand, gives lots of feedback.  They meet you at the door ready to say, "Hi" after a long day.  Blogging is fun when there is feedback in the form of comments bacause you know someone is actually reading your creations.  When there are no comments it is hard to know if it's worth the effort.

With the home computer being more accesible during the summer I'll have to blog a few things and see if it is a puppy or a headge hog.
