Tis the Season
The shop has been neglected. With lots of evening events and other distractions forward progress has been small. I made a quick trip to Eastern Oregon to pick up the elk. Both boys have had music concerts, etc. It has been Oregon winter wet and dark as well.
Winter driving has been interesting if you have to go very far. For anyone traveling in Oregon use this website to check road conditions: http://www.tripcheck.com/Pages/RCmap.asp?curRegion=0&mainNav=RoadConditions
Have a great Christmas! And a beuno New Year. DMP

Shop 16: Slowly But Surely
Last Saturday was a glorious day. The sun shone and the wind didn't blow. I got the roof on. I have to put the ridge cap and trim on to have it totally wrapped up. That is exciting! I put up a piece of wall metal and that really gives the building some dimension.
Lots of distractions with this holiday season but it is all good. I have been trying to put up wall metal in the evenings. It goes pretty fast. I have to get a helping hand to get the pieces up with a couple screws, then I can put in the rest of the screws on my own.
Anyone headed to Wallowa? I need to make a run to pick up some elk... DMP

A Week of the Hack
After the hunting and quiet T-day I got sick. I spent last Sunday in bed then the week at work trying to keep it together. Of course the first day I feel I can work on the shop roof it snows. So I spent a few hours framing in a second window and putting up some of the trim metal. This way I can put up wall metal if the weather doesn't permit roof work.
I have been getting inside the house things done with these early dark days. I got the light in the oven fixed with a new door switch and a bulb. I got the master bathroom fan replaced. This limited daylight and winter weather are really cramping my style. DMP
