Bragging Rights

I am coaching a 9 and 10 year old boys soccer team. We are about 3 games from the end of the season. We practice twice a week for 1-1/2 hours. The range of abilities and sizes is full spectrum with this team. I feel that the team is pretty good. I work them hard.

Last night we had a game. Unbeknownest to me the team we played was un-defeated, has a couple all-star team players and a coach that is supposed to be big stuff. We beat them!
I was really frustrated how my guys were playing by not covering where the pass can go etc. After the game when I learned that we had just knocked off the honor guard, I was really pleased. I am anxious to have practice so I can tell the boys what they did. We are off for a few days due to Memorial Day weekend, so it will have to wait.

Looking back on the game, I can now identify what the other team did wrong. They had all the talent in the front and the flunkies as goalie and defense. Luckily I can play anyone anywhere. So if defense is having a hard time I can move a hot shot back there or if we are doing really good I can put my star player in as goalie to even up the odds.

I am having fun coaching but if I am not careful I can stress myself out. DMP

Glad you are willing to be involved in the boys activities. Loved the time you and your dad coached soccer for Michael's team. Soccer was the sport for you.
